How Travis Clark Honored Wife Katie Bates 3 Months Before Cheating Bombshell
Travis Clark’s past comments about Katie Bates are coming to light.
Three months before confessing he had an affair during his marriage, the Bringing Up Bates alum heaped praise on his wife—who recently suffered a pregnancy loss while expecting the couple’s third baby—in a heartfelt social media tribute to mark her 25th birthday, calling her “the easiest person in the world to celebrate.”
“You love so deeply, give so much of yourself to everything you do, and somehow make every season we’re in feel special,” he wrote on Instagram in October alongside a video showing him and Katie on a trip to the U.K. “From the first day I met you I knew there was something different about you… and I was right.”
The loving remarks resurfaced at a tough time for the couple—who wed in 2021 and share kids Hailey, 2, and Harvey, 15 months—as Katie recently offered insight into her heartbreaking miscarriage.
In a Jan. 16 Instagram video, Katie highlighted the joyful milestones of learning she was expecting—including revealing her positive pregnancy test to her husband—followed by the deep sorrow of grieving her loss. At one point in the clip, the reality star held hands with a loved one as she tearfully lay in a hospital bed, whispering, “I just lost my baby.”
Katie also paid tribute to her late child in her caption, writing, “I will spend the rest of my life missing you.”

“This is hard to write, but I owe the truth and I owe an apology,” the 24-year-old wrote in a Jan. 17 Instagram Stories post. “This was my failure and my responsibility alone. I know that words don’t begin to express the damage I caused or the depth of the hurt I’ve brought into her life, but I am truly sorry.”
Travis also shared that he is “getting help and doing the work to change,” adding, “I ask for privacy and grace for Katie as she processes this in her own time.”
