Season 1 of Dutton Ranch may be asking more questions than the two remaining episodes can answer. The finale is less than two weeks away but resolution feels impossible.

There’s sure to be a cliffhanger to hold us to Season 2, but wait — is there even going to be a Season 2 of Dutton Ranch? That’s one of the 10 burning questions addressed below. Given the ratings it’d be crazy to not continue, but Yellowstone franchise shows aren’t afraid to wrap prematurely (see 1883 and Yellowstone).

When Does Season 1 of Dutton Ranch End?

New episodes of Dutton Ranch have premiered every Friday morning on Paramount+ since the show’s mid-May launch. That puts the nine-episode run on track to end on July 3.

Holiday weekends are not typically great television viewing weekends, but then again there’s not much else in terms of new TV on 4th of July weekend so maybe it’ll balance out.

Paramount Network has also been airing each new episode at 8PM ET on Friday nights.

Dutton Ranch: 10 Burning Questions

Questions around Season 2 begin this list of 10 burning questions, but quickly we get to what fans want to know about Beulah, Rob Will, Beth, Rip and Carter.

If writer Chad Feehan answers five or six of these questions before the finale we’ll be satisfied. Sure, it’d be heartwarming to know Dwight’s leopard found a new home and is running free, but if that’s not revealed no sleep will be lost.

We do deserve to know where Oreana’s loyalties lie however and for that reason her burning question is ranked as most important.

Just two episodes of Dutton Ranch Season 1 remain but we count at least 10 burning questions the show must answer to leave us satisfied. Is that even possible?

Will there be Season 2?

There’s more than enough mystery left to end Season 1 with a major cliffhanger. This story seems to be just beginning and yet no Season 2 announcement has been made. That has to change, right?

What happened to the leopard?

Dutton Ranch fans are dying to know where the leopard went after Dwight White was killed by the sheriff. Most likely some sort of big cat rescue swooped in but some viewers believe she’ll return during a pivotal moment, possibly to kill Rob Will, Miguel or another Jackson.

What happened to Oreana’s mother?

We’ve learned the backstory for just about every Dutton Ranch character, except Oreana. Her father’s troubled childhood is coming in to focus but it’s not clear how or when her mother exiting the ranch.

Did Beulah find some reason to kill her too?

Did Wes’ wife Whitney go to the feds?

Wes is the foreman that Rob Will murders in Episode 1 and his wife Whitney is the woman who begged the sheriff to open an investigation. We’ve not heard anything from her since Ep. 2 when she cleared out the trailer and drove off.

The Jacksons indicated they’d keep searching for her but seemed to acknowledge her disappearance means she’ll seek a higher authority. There’s a 50/50 chance the show never acknowledges this again as these kind of loose ends are a frustrating hallmark of Yellowstone franchise shows.

Why did Everett and Beulah break up originally?

The nature of Everett and Beulah’s romance seems to suggest that the couple didn’t break up for traditional reasons. There’s something deeper at the core of it but time is healing.

Who is Levi and was Beulah involved in his death too?

During Ep. 4 of Dutton Ranch, Everett McKinney and Beulah Jackson are enjoying a drink and a friendly conversation when the old veterinarian refers to Levi as someone who used to swing on the tire swing in the yard.

It’s a painful memory that tortures Everett. The most plausible explanation is that Levi was his son and he died many years ago. The circumstances haven’t yet been revealed.

What’s Joaquin’s next move?

One of the major plot twists from Ep. 7 of Dutton Ranch was Beulah’s last-minute decision to will the ranch to Rob Will, not Joaquin. He runs off in anger but surely he’s not just going to give up, right?

As it stands he’d need to report to work on Monday for Beulah, and then eventually Rob Will.

Why did Joaquin’s dad Mariano go bad?

A flashback sequence from Ep. 7 introduces young Mariano Reyes as an upstanding, responsible husband and father. He works at the 10 Petal and takes care of young Beulah, but at some point he disappears.

Joaquin and Beulah both allude to some sort of transgression that leads to the younger Reyes being raised by Beulah. In 2026 it seems like Mariano’s gone full villain. He’s the one sending a veiled threat to Beulah about moving cattle during a telling phone conversation in Season 3.

Is Beulah Jackson alive?

If you watched Episode 7 of Dutton Ranch you know. Beulah Jackson suffered a serious medical event at a pivotal moment. Her death would turn this show on its head, again.

Whose side is Oreana Jackson on?

It’s now pretty clear that Oreana just isn’t all that in to Carter. Honestly, she’s been nothing but red flags since the beginning but he (and maybe us) all ignored her bad behavior because their romance was just so enticing.

The question that remains is how far down a deadly path with Oreana go with her father, Rob Will. She conspires with him to upset the 190th birthday celebration and celebrates when Beulah reconsiders her play to will the ranch to Joaquin, but Rob Will is a killer and violence is his only means of negotiation.

This daddy’s girl is going to have to choose right or wrong before the end of Season 1.
