The couple is also known for hosting The Jinger & Jeremy Podcast. Recently, the two opened up about a difficult time early on in their marriage. This was during a continuation to a previous episode, which involved the couple interviewing Zac Wyse and Lydia Plath of Welcome to Plathville fame.
During the July 30th episode, Jeremy shared that they faced a “deep betrayal.” He shared it had nothing to do with his or Jinger’s families. However, it involved other people he wanted his wife to “meet and engage with.”
Jeremy continued, “You have relationships in your life that ground you, and when those shake or are removed, you feel like, ‘What am I doing?’” While not getting into specifics, the two shared what happened had caused them to talk with a pastor.
According to Jeremy, the pastor suggested this could be “the Lord’s teaching you how to walk alone.” He also clarified, “And not alone, like, me away from her or us from the Lord, but the two of us having to be dependent on him.”
Jeremy Looked Back Over The Impact The Incident, & The Couple’s Early Years, Had Even Eight Years Later
Looking back at their early years as a married couple, Jeremy admitted they were tough but taught them good lessons. He continued, “We looked back on our first year and thought, ‘That was really incredible,’ but actually, there were a ton of challenges.”
“And a lot of them were assaults from the outside. And it was like, ‘OK, we didn’t expect to be in a war zone,’ but we got to bunker down and we get to bunker down with each other.”
Jeremy also assured this wasn’t an incident they had talked about in the past. During the interview, he shared, “This is the first time we’re even talking about [this].” He continued, “Now it’s eight years on, we’re in Los Angeles, we have friends who are family to us, we have a deep community that we’re invested in, involved in. We have everything we didn’t have in that moment, and yet, those years were necessary.”
