Paramount+ Confirms Release Date For ‘Landman’ Season 2

Taylor Sheridan’s Landman has finally received its season 2 release window on Paramount+. The first season of Landman was a big hit for Paramount+ and cemented Sheridan as one of the most talented storytellers on television. Following Billy Bob Thornton’s landman Tommy Norris, who must juggle cartel interests with the legal fallout from a fatal accident, Landman was well-received.

A combination of stunning scenery, powerhouse performances, and slick dialogue, Landman paints a mesmerizing picture of how the oilfields of West Texas shape geopolitical interests and make fortunes for many. Landman season 2 was given a renewal in March 2025, just two months after season 1 concluded, and now the season has a release window.

During Paramount’s quarterly earnings call, it was revealed that Landman season 2 will premiere on the company’s streaming platform in December 2025, as part of a slate of Sheridan releases. The show is set to be released after Tulsa King season 3 and Mayor of Kingstown season 4, and helps to bookend the year for Paramount+.

Landman season 1 attracted 15.8 million viewers, and its November release date saw the season run until January. Clearly, Paramount feels that season 2 could have an even bigger impact with a December release. It spans a similar window to the first season and capitalizes on the holiday season when people are typically at home.

There is also the chance of being recognized for awards for Landman‘s talented cast, as Thornton received a Golden Globe nomination for season 1. With the Golden Globes being hosted every January, there is the chance for Landman season 2 to generate some awards buzz and gain momentum over the holiday period.

Our Take On Landman Season 2’s Release Window: The Show Can Prove Its Season 1 Success Wasn’t A Fluke

Landman season 1’s success was incredible, and the show will need to prove itself in season 2. The strong themes of family and loyalty could play well over the holiday period, and the success of season 1 has clearly shown Paramount that this is a strong window for the show to come out.

It also avoids the network premiere period, which tends to start around September/October time when many of the networks release new seasons of their shows. Landman‘s December release avoids getting caught up in this market saturation, and could result in more viewers tuning in, giving season 2 the best chance of success.
