Erin Bates Lost Function In Leg After Almost Dying, Will She Walk Again?
Fans have been following Erin Bates after she recently gave birth to her seventh child, Henry, back in August. Since then, the Bringing Up Bates star had been facing a number of health complications. Even after leaving the hospital, she was notably seen in a wheelchair. Fans have since been wondering if Erin is currently okay.
Erin Bates Shared Her Recent Homecoming After The Family Asked Fans For Prayers
Erin and the Bates family were introduced to fans through various reality shows, like United Bates of America and Bringing Up Bates. The latter show aired on UP TV for ten seasons, from 2015 to 2021.
Erin is the third child and second daughter of Gil and Kelly Jo Bates. In 2013, she married Chad Paine and has since started a family of her own.
Back in August, news had come out that Erin had given birth to her seventh child, Henry, born on August 25, 2025. However, at the time, the family called on fans to pray for Erin, sharing that she had been enduring health complications.
Following this, the family had kept fans updated about the situation on social media. In various posts. At times, it was revealed that Erin had spent time in the ICU and endured a severe seizure. More positive updates were later shared, including Chad revealing that Erin’s tests were good.
However, another recent post shared Erin’s homecoming with fans. At the time, a photo showed that Erin was using a wheelchair.
Erin Also Showed That She Was Getting Help From Her Family In A Follow-Up Post
Erin herself expanded on the situation in a caption to the post. She opened things up noting, “After almost three weeks in the hospital, I have never been so thankful to finally head home to our babies.”
Erin later addressed her leg directly, noting, “We don’t have all the answers yet, and I still don’t have function in my right leg, but we are choosing to count every blessing. Especially the gift of being together again.”
At this time, fans have shared their concern for Erin’s recovery process. Further updates concerning Erin will likely come from the family. In fact, in a later post, Erin shared that her mother was helping her during this time. Writing, “So thankful to have my Mom here to help us navigate this journey!,” she included a video of her mother preparing food for the family.
In addition, Erin’s original post highlighted how important fans and their support have been to her during this time. Thanking them for their prayers, she shared, “Your prayers have carried us through and mean the world to our family.”
