Mimi Stopped Appearing On OutDaughtered After Season 8
As fans of OutDaughtered know, Michelle Theriot, also known as “Mimi,” is Danielle Busby’s mother and grandmother to her and Adam’s children. Early on, Mimi moved to Texas to help with the family, appearing on the show.
However, Mimi stopped appearing on the show after Season 8. Since then, fans have often asked about what happened to her.
During episodes of their podcast series, “More Than Reality,” the Busby family has occasionally talked about Mimi. In a few shares, Danielle noted that what had happened behind-the-scenes was more complicated than viewers thought, noting issues caused her to stop appearing on the show.
Since then, fans have often wondered if Mimi was still involved with the family. Back in April 2024, fans were wondering if Danielle allowed Mimi to see her grandchildren amid a DUI.
As previously reported, Mimi was also the subject of rumors claiming that she had passed away. Throughout her time on the show. In fact, in a recently shared clip, Adam even shared that it was one of their “top asked” questions.
Adam continued, noting that fans have been asking about her whereabouts and what her relationship with the family is like right now. Danielle sighed before sharing that she felt like she was about to “tear the wall down here.”
Danielle Opened Up With Fans In A Clip Shared On Social Media
Through the podcast, Danielle has also claimed her mother hasn’t always been there for her. She has claimed in the past that this led her to develop an independent personality at a young age.
In the clip, Danielle shared, “So, we don’t really have a relationship right now.” She continued, “That is a statement I feel, like, needs to be answered to, and asked to, but I don’t know if I’m, like, quite ready to, like, unravel all of this.”
Wanting to give fans an answer, Danielle noted her mother “was still here on Earth.” She added, “She still lives in League City.” Adam then asked Danielle about how long it was since they last saw her in person.
At this, Danielle responded, “We haven’t had a relationship in probably almost… three years at this point.” Adam agreed that they hadn’t seen her in person for around three years.
Mimi Was Also Discussed In A Podcast Episode Shared Back In May
The clip originates from a video originally released in October 2024. Since then, Danielle has continued to talk about her mother on the podcast.
In a video released this past May, she noted it has been four years since she cut ties with her mother. Danielle and Adam discussed issues they’ve had with Mimi in the past, even during filming episodes. Noting she buried her emotions, Danielle ultimately talked about finding forgiveness and reconciliation in her faith.
