Josh Duggar Convicted On Child P*rn Charges
Josh Duggar rose to fame with the rest of his large family on TLC’s 19 Kids And Counting. TLC easily makes stars out of entire families when the network decides to put them in the spotlight. In recent years, viewers have seen this with shows like 7 Little Johnstons and Welcome To Plathville.
Using his family’s platform as a springboard, Josh Duggar even had political aspirations, rubbing elbows with a lot of famous politicians. However, that all came to a halt when Duggar was found guilty on child p*rn charges and sentenced to time behind bars.
Josh Duggar is currently serving his sentence of 151 months at FCI Seagoville in Dallas, Texas. He is not scheduled for release until October of 2032.
Duggar Writes Letter Begging Judge For Help
Recently, Josh Duggar penned a letter to a judge asking for help. Following his appeals for a new trial being denied, Duggar begged an Arkansas federal court to provide him with a new legal team to help him file another motion. In addition to this, he also wrote a letter to Judge Timothy L. Brooks, asking him for help with this request. Brooks handled Duggar’s trial.
In the letter to the judge, Josh Duggar wrote, “I am currently incarcerated and proceeding pro se. I seek the Court’s assistance in appointing counsel to help evaluate my case and, if appropriate, prepare a motion to vacate, set aside, or correct my conviction and sentence.”
If Josh Duggar does nothing and serves out his sentence, he still has years to go. So, in this aspect, it makes sense that he is doing everything he can to try and get an appeal.
Josh Duggar Gives Rare Glimpse Of Life Behind Bars
In his recent letter to the judge, Josh Duggar also gave a glimpse into his life behind bars. The former TLC celeb continued in this letter, writing, “During my time of incarceration, I have worked diligently to focus on education, personal growth, my faith, and to maintain strong family ties. However, as I review my case, I believe there are significant issues relating to trial errors, evidentiary rulings, and other constitutional violations that merit a thorough post-conviction review.”
Duggar went on to add, “I am unable to fully assess these matters on my own, which is why I seek the assistance of qualified counsel to help evaluate whether relief is justified.”
Whether or not Josh Duggar gets his request granted will certainly be something to watch in this situation. In the meantime, he still has significant time to serve behind bars.
