High-stakes oil deals are shaking up relationships on Landman.
In season 2, episode 8, Cami Miller (Demi Moore) faces her biggest business decision yet: move forward with a risky offshore drill in Louisiana or pursue litigation against M-Tex’s insurance provider.
Tommy Norris (Billy Bob Thornton) and attorney Rebecca Wallace (Kayla Wallace) see legal action as the only sensible option — and the least volatile path forward. But M-Tex’s in-house geologist, Charlie Newsom (Guy Burnet), is convinced he can uncover a hidden gas reserve that would net Cami millions — if she’s willing to take the gamble.
Tommy, however, has little confidence in Cami’s wildcatting instincts, especially when measured against those of her late husband, Monty (Jon Hamm). Still, Charlie passionately makes his case, and the dynamic between him and Rebecca visibly shifts — putting strain on their budding romance.
So, what happened in season 2, episode 8 of Landman? Here’s a breakdown of everything that took place, from Cami Miller’s risky business decision to Angela Norris’ (Ali Larter) big gambling win.
Why did Tommy hire a stripper to be his father’s physical therapist?

At the start of season 2, episode 8, Tommy finds his father, T.L. (Sam Elliott), fully clothed in the pool, stranded after a fall and unable to get out on his own. Pain in his hips and knees has left T.L. nearly immobile, forcing Tommy to pull him from the water. They share a quiet embrace — and in that moment, Tommy realizes something has to change.
While driving to Fort Worth, Texas, Tommy passes Rick’s Cabaret, the strip club Angela once took her nursing home residents to on a field trip. On impulse, he goes inside and meets a dancer named Cheyenne (Francesca Xuereb) and offers her a job as T.L.’s physical therapist.
“He’s 82 years old, and he’s ate up with arthritis and all kind of injuries, and he can barely get from one end of the couch to the other,” Tommy says. “Can you help my dad? Just show him some of your stretches to get him stronger.”
Cheyenne is puzzled as to why Tommy wouldn’t hire a licensed professional. To which he explains, “My pop is as stubborn as a jack mule, but he can’t say no to a pretty woman.”
Later that same day, Cheyenne arrives at the house for her first session with T.L., and Tommy returns home from work to find his father back in the pool — this time floating serenely in his physical therapist’s arms.
Did Cami move forward with the offshore drill?

Cami sits down with Tommy, geologist Charlie and attorneys Nate (Colm Feore) and Rebecca to discuss M-Tex’s $400 million offshore drilling project. They outline two possible paths forward: move ahead with drilling a new gas well or pursue legal action against the insurance company.
“The likelihood of a successful strike at the initial site is 10%. A 10% chance of rain is no chance at all, as you know. We believe the reason Monty didn’t drill was that he felt a litigation against the insurance company was a safer strategy,” Nate explains.
Rebecca and Tommy advocate for litigation, but Cami’s wildcatting instincts take over. She asks Charlie for his take, and he answers with a bathymetric map that hints at a massive, untapped gas reservoir.
“Go find it,” she tells Charlie.
After the others exit the room, Tommy makes one last plea, urging Cami to let him sell M-Tex so she can spend the rest of her days in a beachfront home, surrounded by cabana boys.
“I don’t want cabana boys. I want success. Get that for me,” she tells him.
Did Charlie and Rebecca break up?

After the meeting with Cami, Rebecca explodes at Charlie, accusing him of overselling the well’s potential and framing a 10% chance as an attractive gamble.
“I said explain it, not sell it like a f—— time share,” she says, adding that their romantic entanglement is over.
Charlie fires back, “I see what it’s like with you. I do what you say, your way or you just sever the relationship. What a lonely woman you’re gonna be.”
“I’m sulking because what he said was true, and it hurt,” she admits — a confession that hints the door may still be open for reconciliation.
How will Angela spend her casino winnings?

While Tommy is away on business, Angela treats the nursing home residents to a casino field trip — and proves she’s a card shark, walking away with more than $300,000 from the roulette and craps tables.
Tommy later marvels at her winnings and asks what she plans to do with the money. Angela flips the question back on him, clearly hoping it might spark a conversation about a new house in Fort Worth — or the engagement ring she’s been nudging him towards all season.
