Landman Season 2 Gets an Exciting Update That Will Make Taylor Sheridan Fans Happy
The Taylor Sheridan universe keeps thriving. With the Yellowstone franchise set to continue with multiple spinoffs, Sheridan has other shows that have nothing to do with the Western franchise.
Landman premiered on Paramount+ on Nov. 17, 2024, and started production on Season 2 in early April. Luckily, it will remain consistent with one season a year, as the upcoming entry will follow after 13 months. The announcement is in line with previous reports, which claimed the show is set to return later this year.
Landman comes from Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace, and follows Billy Bob Thornton’s Tommy Norris, who is a petroleum landman and the Operations VP at M-Tex Oil. The drama series takes place in West Texas, and sees Tommy butting heads with an out-of-town lawyer who starts investigating a fatal accident.
Landman Season 1 also starred Jon Hamm as Monty Miller, Demi Moore as his wife, Cami, Ali Larter as Angela, Tommy’s ex-wife, Jacob Lofland as Cooper, Angela and Tommy’s son, and Michelle Randolf as Ainsley, their daughter, and Andy Garcia.
Andy Garcia’s Galino is also coming back and will get more character development. Grey’s Anatomy‘s Stefania Spampinato also joined the show as Galino’s wife, although there are few details about how her character will influence the story.
Landman Season 2 will also include some newcomers. Chicago Fire actor Guy Burnet will play Charlie Newsom is a “charming” oil and gas engineer, and Your Friends & Neighbors star Miriam Silverman as Greta Stidham, a university admissions counselor described as “intimidating.”
The follow-up season will also welcome a Yellowstone franchise star: Sam Elliot. The actor played the tough cowboy Shea Brennan in the prequel 1883, and is set to star in the upcoming season in an undisclosed role. Thornton confirmed the casting earlier this year, saying the season will feature “Sam Elliott, who I go back to the ’80s with.”
Landman Opened to Positive Reviews
Landman Season 1 received encouraging reviews from the critics, who gave the show a 78% approval score and landed the Certified Fresh badge. Audiences had more mixed opinions about the show, and gave it a more divisive 64% rating on the Popcornmeter. However, the show has continuously been in the charts even without new episodes, so its popularity has exponentially grown after Season 1’s finale.
Landman Season 2 will premiere on Paramount+ in Dec. 2025.
