Landman Season 2’s Return Just Got A Massive Boost
Landman season 2 has already received several enhancements in its sophomore run. Landman’s cast has added Western legend Sam Elliott to the mix, and is promoting Demi Moore, who plays Cami Miller, to a leading cast member. The boost in star power will undoubtedly add appeal to the series, as will its updated release window.
Landman Season 2’s December Release Date Sets It Up To Be Even Bigger Than Season 1: Landman Season 2 Will Premiere Just In Time For The Holidays
According to Paramount’s Q2 earnings call, which lays out their programming for the rest of 2025 and beyond, Landman season 2 will premiere in December. That’s a change from the company’s earnings call from Q1, which suggested Landman’s sophomore run would come in November. While the scheduling suggests Landman has been delayed, it could be a good thing.
Paramount+ releasing Landman in December means it will come just in time for the holidays, when families are gathering and looking for programs to enjoy together. That should provide Landman with a boost in viewership, as Taylor Sheridan’s other shows that were released in December, 1883 and 1923, premiered around the festivities to massive popularity, breaking viewership records.
1883 premiered in December 2021, and it became Paramount+’s most-watched original series premiere ever (via TV Insider). The following year, 1923 season 1 premiered in December 2022, and its viewership reached an impressive 7.4 million viewers, breaking the streaming platform’s record as the most-watched original premiere of all time (via MovieWeb). Like the Yellowstone shows, Landman focuses on family.
Landman’s Season 2 Release Date Is Still Impressive Despite Being Delayed: Landman Season 2 Arrives Within A Year Of Season 1
Despite being delayed, Landman season 2 will still have an impressive turnaround. Returning with season 2 in December means that Landman will have two seasons in two years, with Landman season 1 concluding in January. For a streaming program, that’s an impressive timeline, even if fans have to wait the extra month for Landman to arrive in December.
With the show getting such a significant time block, it’s unlikely that Landman will experience further delays. Landman has been filming this summer in Oklahoma and around Texas, so things are evidently on track. In contrast, the release of Beth and Rip’s Yellowstone spinoff, The Dutton Ranch, initially slated for November, has been postponed until 2026.
