‘Landman’s Jacob Lofland Just Confirmed a Scary Detail About Those Season 1 Oil Rig Explosions
“We had a week of roughneck camp to get comfortable with the wells and rigs we were working on. By the way, it’s all real. No green screen. So that week was nice and good. We had some of the most amazing stunt people… Wade Allen is an amazing stunt coordinator. He kept me safe the entire time I was up on the mast and falling off. I always felt comfortable, but definitely, some preparation went into it. On the way, it was very fearful, but real quick and over fast, so it worked out.”
This was certainly frightening to watch for everyone on set during these scenes, but this heightened sense of realism is also what made Landman such a success. The show premiered near the end of last year and was an instant hit for Paramount+, becoming its biggest new series in history. Leading the charge in a star-studded cast is Billy Bob Thornton, who pays Tommy.
Tommy is poised to take over the President of M-Tex job left behind by Monty Miller (Jon Hamm), who passed away at the end of Season 1 after a battle with a bad heart. Ali Larter and Michelle Randolph play Angela and Ainsley Norris, Tommy’s wife and daughter, with Paulina Chávez and Kayla Wallace filling out the rest of the ensemble as Ariana and Rebecca Falcone. Mark Collie, James Jordan, Demi Moore, Mustafa Speaks, and Colm Feore also star in Landman.
When Will ‘Landman’ Season 2 Be Released?
Paramount has already confirmed that Landman Season 2 will be released later this year, in November, around the same time that Season 1 was released in 2024. The show was renewed for a second season shortly after the conclusion of the first, and it’s also been announced that 1883 veteran Sam Elliot will debut in the show. After wrapping up the final season of Yellowstone last year, Sheridan certainly has some time on his hands, but Landman is shaping up to occupy most of it. When the dust settles, it could easily be Sheridan’s biggest show ever.
Landman Season 2 is currently in production and will be released later this year. Stay tuned to Collider for more updates on the series and watch Landman Season 1 on Paramount+.
