With no herd left to tend on the Dutton Ranch, Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) — now the foreman at 10 Petal — recruits his ranch hands, Azul Ramos (J.R. Villarreal) and Zachariah Moss (Marc Menchaca), to join him at his new job.

But 10 Petal has long been a rival ranch, and Azul is far from thrilled about the move.

“There’s some good ol’ boys in that bunkhouse. And some sons of b—-es. My old man is rolling in his grave,” he tells Zachariah.

Azul’s skepticism proves warranted. Upon arriving at 10 Petal, he and Zachariah are met with hostility from the bunkhouse crew.

The tension between the longtime rivals eventually comes to a head in a roping competition, where the two Dutton ranch hands make quick work and walk away with a victory.

Beulah and Everett’s complicated history remains one of Dutton Ranch‘s biggest mysteries. While the series has yet to reveal the full story behind their past, it’s clear the pair still harbor feelings for one another.

In episode 6, they finally act on those emotions, with viewers finding Everett waking up at 10 Petal after spending the night with Beulah.

“Last night was fun,” Beulah tells the local veterinarian.

“Yes, it was,” Everett replies. “You got my hat off my head.”

Encouraged by their rekindled connection, Beulah suggests he spend another night with her, but Everett hesitates. Rather than dwell on the rejection, the two quickly shift gears and discuss 10 Petal’s upcoming 190th anniversary celebration.

“I want you to be my date,” Beulah says. “Well, I would be honored,” Everett responds, accepting the invitation.

Carter and Oreana’s budding romance hits a snag in episode 6 during a fishing trip that takes a surprisingly emotional turn.

While out on the water, Carter opens up about feeling trapped by his role as Rip and Beth’s son, admitting that he doesn’t feel like he has much say in who he is or what his future looks like.

“I don’t want to be anyone’s anymore,” he tells Oreana.

Drawing from her own complicated family history, Oreana offers a simple response: “Then don’t. Not even mine.”

After a long stretch of quiet, Carter looks at her and blurts out, “I think I love you.”

The confession catches Oreana off guard. Rather than reciprocate, she gently tells him, “I don’t think either of us really know what love is.”

Clearly hurt, Carter asks, “You don’t think this is it?”

Before the conversation can go any further, Oreana receives a text message and announces that they need to be somewhere else. The moment ends unresolved, leaving Carter’s feelings — and Oreana’s response — hanging in the balance.

After leaving rehab early and returning to South Texas, Beulah’s son, Rob-Will Jackson (Jai Courtney), encourages Chet to get revenge for being fired from 10 Petal.

Consumed by anger, Chet sets his sights on Beulah’s other son, Joaquin Jackson (Juan Pablo Raba), the ranch manager who refused to help him after he lost his job despite years of loyalty and hard work.

That night, Chet ambushes Joaquin as he returns to the ranch.

“I got your attention now, huh?” Chet says while pointing a gun at him. “I did everything you and Ms. Beulah asked. I risked my goddamn life. I thought of y’all as family. You said there are only two ways to leave this ranch.”

He then pulls the trigger, shooting Joaquin through the hand.

As Chet prepares to fire a second — potentially fatal — shot, 10 Petal’s head of security, Miguel (Berto Colón), intervenes. Without hesitation, Miguel shoots Chet in the head, killing him instantly.

Rip arrives moments later to find Joaquin wounded, but alive. Unwilling to answer questions from local law enforcement at a hospital, Joaquin opts to stay off the radar. Rip takes him to Everett, who patches up the injury himself.

Now serving as 10 Petal’s strategist, Beth accompanies Beulah to Dallas to secure a licensing deal with Frontier Hospitality Group — an opportunity Beth had originally envisioned for Dutton Ranch before foot-and-mouth disease wiped out their herd.

After successfully landing the deal, the two celebrate with a few drinks and begin to open up about their lives. The conversation reveals surprising similarities between the women, who have both endured personal loss, family turmoil and the pressures of running large ranching operations.

But the mood quickly shifts when Beulah brings up Beth’s late brother, Jamie Dutton (Wes Bentley), whom Beth killed in the Yellowstone series finale to avenge her father, John Dutton (Kevin Costner).

Beth’s expression immediately hardens. “Yeah, I don’t think about him anymore,” she says.

Ignoring the clear warning, Beulah presses on. “Yeah, well, I don’t blame you. I mean, but one has to wonder what really happened. Him gone missing after what happened to your father?” she says.

Beth wastes no time shutting down the conversation. “I don’t think about that, either,” she replies, making it clear the subject is off-limits.
