Shock Announcement! Landman Season 2 Moves Set—Insiders Spill the Major Twist
The move signals both a behind-the-scenes evolution and the potential for new storylines, with casino scenes and new background characters on the docket. The latest filming location isn’t random. Durant is home to the Choctaw Casino & Resort, a likely setting for the new scenes, though producers haven’t officially confirmed it. Texas-based Legacy Casting is now looking for local talent to film in Durant today, offering a glimpse into what kind of scenes we can expect.
Among the casting calls are: a man in his mid-40s to portray an “ogling man” who creepily stares at several of the show’s female characters (what a thing to put on your IMDb page); general background extras to play casino-goers; and background extras with their own vehicles — any color except red or white — for exterior casino shots.
Season 1 starred Billy Bob Thornton, Demi Moore, Jon Hamm, Ali Larter, Jacob Lofland, Paulina Chávez, Michelle Randolph, and James Jordan, with special appearances by Michael Peña, Andy Garcia, and even Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. Season 2 has added Sam Elliott to the cast, and the series is fully in production.
What Can We Expect from ‘Landman’ Season 2?
Even Sheridan might not know, at this point.
In a wide-ranging Variety“ Actors on Actors” interview with Kathy Bates, Thornton revealed that Sheridan prefers to follow the story as it unfolds — and doesn’t necessarily know the ending when he starts writing.
“When Sheridan starts writing, he’s not necessarily sure where it’s going to go. He lets the characters and the story take him when he’s gonna write it.”
The second season of Landman is in production in West Texas now and is expected to premiere in November 2025 on Paramount+. Stay tuned to Collider for more coverage.
