Taylor Sheridan’s ‘Landman’ is Seeking Extras for Shoots in Fort Worth — Here’s How to Apply
The upcoming gigs offer roles varying from cowboys to tourists.
Landman, Taylor Sheridan’s West Texas oil drama starring Billy Bob Thornton, is looking for extras as the show films its second season in Fort Worth. Legacy Casting posted several opportunities to MyCastingFile, a website where actors can apply for extra and background work.
Legacy is looking for extras to play cowboys, trucker types, downtown pedestrians, oil show attendees and tourists at a honky tonk.
These are all paid roles and vary on compensation depending on the job.

Landman is based on Christian Wallace’s Texas Monthly podcast “Boomtown,” which ran between 2019 and 2020 and chronicled how the Permian Basin oil boom shaped the region’s culture and politics. Thornton helms the cast as Tommy Norris, an oil industry middleman and problem solver. For his part, Thornton scored a 2025 Golden Globe nomination for best male actor in a drama series. (Hiroyuki Sanada of Shogun won the award.)
Landman began production on its second season in early April, Paramount+ announced then in a news release. The star-studded show has since been spotted filming in downtown Fort Worth and around the food spot JD’s Hamburgers, which has seen an uptick in customers due to Landman’s local presence, the restaurant’s owner told WFAA (Channel 8).
“Landman” has also stopped by Benbrook, Springtown, Cresson and Jacksboro to film scenes. The show will continue to film in Fort Worth this month, in addition to stops in Cresson and Strawn. Sheridan’s oil drama series “Landman” will continue filming in Texas in June.
The first season, which premiered in November on Paramount+, also traveled around Fort Worth, with episodes featuring the Petroleum Club, Hotel Drover in the Stockyards and Texas Christian University’s track and field complex.
Legacy Casting CEO Andrei Constantinescu shared advice for hopeful extras in a recent interview with the Midland Reporter-Telegram: “Just keep applying.” If an “applicant has been consistent with applying for roles, then we will notice them,” he said.
